Patient Rights and Responsibilities

Patients have the right to receive safe, respectful, and high-quality care without discrimination. They are entitled to clear information about their diagnosis, treatment options, potential risks and benefits, and the opportunity to make informed decisions about their care. Patients also have the right to privacy, confidentiality, and involvement in planning their treatment. In return, patients are responsible for providing accurate and complete health information, following agreed-upon treatment plans, asking questions when they do not understand instructions, respecting healthcare staff and other patients, keeping appointments or providing notice if they need to cancel, and meeting their financial obligations when applicable. By understanding and fulfilling these rights and responsibilities, patients and healthcare providers can work together to achieve the best possible health outcomes.
